Potent Brew: ‘Nick & Tony, two guys from South Philly’
July 9, 2013
On Tuesday July 9 I had the extreme pleasure of being invited to do a podcast for Potent Brew (self-described as ‘Nick & Tony, two guys from South Philly’, pretty opinionated and interesting guys I’d say) and friend Tom Bazis.
We had a long and free-wheeling conversation for over 2 hours which you can check out here.

Local Motion on KVNF from Paonia
July 9, 2013
KVNF.org is the local public radio station in Paonia, my home town. Correspondent Marty Durlin did a wonderful two part interview with me that departed from the usual mode, in that it included a lot of personal reminescinces about growing up in Paonia. It’s still a pretty special place, made even more special by the presence of new comers like Marty, who have changed the tone of the conversation and raised the bar considerably.

Tools for a Culture of Healing
May 27, 2013
In this video Dr. Dennis McKenna describes how people are reaching out for meaningful experiences beyond what politicized religious institutions can provide. McKenna talks about how shamanic practices can be integrated into our culture through rites of passage and medical institutions that value psychedelic experiences. Dennis discusses how the proper context for these experiences can heal the wounds at the heart of our society while changing hearts and mind in a way that’s needed for a sustainable paradigm.

The Brotherhood: Growing up with Terence, La Chorrera and immanatizing the Eschaton
Dec 19, 2012
Join experiential journalist Rak Razam in a frank and revealing interview with Dennis McKenna, on the cusp of his new book publication, The Brotherhood of the Screaming Abyss. Dennis discusses his early life with Terence and the unbreakable bond between his brother and he; living through the first wave of the psychedelic 1960s; the Experiment at La Chorerra (recounted in full, mind-blowing detail) and the fallout that still lingers to this day. The 2012 meme, Timewave Zero, ayahuasca and the Global Shamanic Resurgence are all examined at length, as is the passing of Terence and the impact on his family, and the entheogenic tribe. Dennis also discusses the perils and pitfalls of writing not just a memoir, but a critique of sorts on Terence, his ideas and legacy, and why he wanted to get this book out before Dec 21st, 2012.
With additional commentary by Australian shamanic practitioner, Darpan.
Plant-Human Coevolution & the Origins of the Imagination
Dec 10, 2010
Dennis’ lecture at the National Arts Club, December 10,2010
In this talk, Dennis describes the rapid evolution of the human brain, and the even more rapid evolution of human culture. He talks, at times and fairly technical detail, about the co-evolution of plants and humans, and the origins of language, art and religion. Special thanks to Rob Griffitts for making this recording available for use on the C-Realm podcast.
Globalhuasca Wisdom
May 09, 2010
Rak Razam interviews Dennis McKenna at a retreat in Peru.
A seminal interview with Dennis McKenna, Ph.D on the evolution of ayahuasca and the entheogenic movement and the imminent tipping point on planet earth the movement parallels. In which experiential journalist Rak Razam quizzes Dennis on his role as a scientist and a leading ayahuasca researcher, while Dennis waxes lyrical on bio-piracy, the proliferating business of shamanism in Peru and around the world, and the urgent need for integration of the plant teacher experience in people’s everyday lives to truly make a difference. Is the sacrament of ayahuasca becoming commercialized? As pharmahuasca — and the startling development of ayahuasca in a pill form — spreads beyond the vine itself, is the wisdom of globaluasca transcending its Gaian roots to connect with a new generation without the plant dogma? Is the future a religious, compartmentalized Entheogenic Evangelism? Or will lodges transform into “psychedelic monasteries” training plant Jedis? Its been ten years now since Dennis’ brother Terence passed on, and Dennis deconstructs some of his theories, from Timewave Zero to the Singularity and provides a critical analysis of the 2012 phenomenon and the unfolding Archaic Revival…
